Important Dates

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed the 10th standard with Mathematics and English from a recognized board of State/Central.
• The local language of Uttar Pradesh (Hindi) should have been studied up to the 10th standard.

Additional Requirements

• Basic computer knowledge is mandatory.
• Candidates should be able to ride a bicycle.
• Adequate means of livelihood must be ensured.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 40 years
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PwD: 10 years
  • PwD + OBC: 13 years
  • PwD + SC/ST: 15 years

Salary Structure

• Branch Postmaster (BPM): Rs. 12,000/- to Rs. 29,380/-
• Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) / Dak Sevak: Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 24,470/-

Job Roles and Responsibilities

Branch Postmaster (BPM)

• Manage branch post office operations and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) services.
• Promote postal services and ensure smooth operations.
• Must arrange accommodation for the branch office before engagement.

Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)

• Assist BPM in daily operations, sell stamps, and deliver mail.
• Conduct transactions for IPPB and promote postal services.
• May need to perform BPM duties when required.
• Must reside within the assigned post office jurisdiction.

Dak Sevak

• Assist in mail delivery, sorting tasks, and handling transactions.
• Support postmasters in departmental operations and marketing activities.
• Must reside within the assigned post office jurisdiction.

• General/OBC/EWS: Rs. 100/-
• SC/ST/PwD/Women/Transwomen: Exempted
