UPSC CSE 2025: Application Changes and Updates
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has introduced important changes to the application process for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 and Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination. Candidates must ensure that all required documents are uploaded by February 18, 2025, before 6 PM.
Extended Application Correction Window
To provide more flexibility, UPSC has extended the application correction window. Candidates can make necessary modifications to their applications between February 19 and 25. To avoid last-minute issues, applicants are advised to keep all necessary documents ready and submit their applications in advance.
Changes in the Online Application System
To address technical challenges faced by candidates, UPSC has made improvements to the One-Time Registration (OTR) system. Certain fields can now be edited even after submission, up to the end of the correction period.
Editable Fields:
- Name change history (“Have you ever changed name?”)
- Gender
- Minority status
- Class 10th board exam roll number
Non-Editable Fields:
Some details remain locked after submission and cannot be changed:
- Name (as per Class 10 certificate)
- Date of birth
- Father’s name
- Mother’s name
- Registered mobile number
- Registered email ID
Updating Contact Information
For candidates who have lost access to their registered mobile number, UPSC allows a change request if their registered email ID is still active. An OTP will be sent to the email ID for verification purpose. Similarly, if the registered email ID is inaccessible but the mobile number is still in use, candidates can update their email ID through OTP verification.
These updates aim to simplify the application process and reduce technical difficulties for candidates. Aspirants should carefully review their applications, ensure accuracy, and utilize the correction window if needed to avoid any last-minute complications.
